‘We are what we eat.’ Whatever we ingest and digest becomes a part of us. This isn’t just true of physical food, though. It includes the things we watch, listen to and think about and so inwardly digest this way.
It’s important to be informed about the situation around us and to adhere to the guidelines we have been given to keep ourselves and others safe. But are you over-eating the negative, fear-filled reports and so becoming anxious and fearful? As wise words say, ‘you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, authentic, reputable, compelling, gracious – the best not the worst; the beautiful not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse.’
This is the best medicine to combat anxiety. Enjoy your food!
